Recently, I was able to show a young man the vehicles in and around my shop and answered some of his questions about cars, choppers & electronic fuel injection. He was interested and impressionable and I enjoyed the attention. When the tour was over he exclaimed, "You're the coolest guy I've ever met". It took me by surprise, as it certainly wasn't my intention to dazzle the young man.
Just as the young man thought I was the coolest guy ever, I know a few guys who I think are the coolest ever, for a variety of reasons. One of these guys is Tim Lyczewski. I'm fortunate I had heard his last name spoken a few times before I ever saw it spelled because I'd never have gotten it right.
My friend Tim is about my age and has his own business repairing cars in a small one-man shop in my town. Coincidentally, he calls his business "Tim's Repair" and his reputation is nothing less than sterling. Here's his phone number: 509 839-5139 and I highly recommend him. There are two or three repair shops in town that seem to be the most competent, but due to his impeccable reputation, Tim seems to get the older cars, hot rods and specialty cars. It's not unusual to walk into Tim's Repair and see a hot rod '57 Chevy pickup and a Model A coupe and a minivan all crammed in together. My business was located about 3 or 4 doors down the highway on the same side of the street and I really enjoyed sneaking out and spending a few minutes in the shop with Tim and whatever exciting motor craft toy was dripping oil on his floor that day.
I've always admired Tim and his lifestyle. He's owned cool cars and motorcycles that I've only seen at the car shows and in magazines. He's been intimate with speed equipment that I've only read about in the Summit Racing or Speedway Motors catalogs. Most of the men in town are on a first name basis with Tim and that includes the cops and the bad guys.
What has me even more impressed is that Tim is doing what he enjoys every darn day. Some days I would be sitting in my humble medical supply office, swimming in ICD-9 codes and accreditation requirements and I would think about Tim making a winner out of a vehicle that hadn't run in years, or bolting on some clever solution to someones persistent problem. It was satisfying just walking into the shop because it smelled like gas, rubber and other car smells. Fun & exciting smells.
Old buddy Tim remarried about a decade ago and he became a noticeably happier guy. His new wife Diane is a hard-working, self-made woman who runs her own business and is doing quite well. She is a beautiful, auburn-haired Reflexologist and her business is called "Healing Soles Reflexology". You should take your wife in to see her and learn about Reflexology. My wife is an amateur reflexologist and it's been very beneficial. Her number is 509 840-2599 and you have to ask for her by her professional name: Jacqueline. I enjoy the way she mispronounces it. In addition to her training and skill as a practitioner, she loves the hot rods in which Tim is immersed, rides her own full size street bike, was a professional entertainer, and has an engaging personality.
I'm not naive enough to assume that they're without their challenges, but they are such an admirable compliment to each other. Each of them is independently doing what they enjoy every day, they take trips together to exciting places on their motorcycles, they show up at the Capitol Theater in Yakima for the musicals and always seem to have a smile on their faces.
Tim has been so much help to me with my project cars, and if I need advice he'll most often stop what he's doing and sit at the desk and explain it to me. Then he'll show me the progress on his airplane he's building or some images on his computer of the trip he and Diane took, and end by telling me of some gizmo that's on sale at Valley Auto Parts. If it were possible for me to be any smarter; I'd want to be more like him.

Tim introduced me to Tuned Port Injection. He's the source. |
