WHAT HAPPENED??

Everybody, please sit back down. It looks like it's going to be okay now. So, what did you miss? After spraying the black on the hood for the stripe color, I noticed that it was littered with "fisheyes" and imperfections. Needless to say I was very discouraged. After considering my options I decided to glove up and wipe all the black off with Acetone. That left the hood quite streaked so I wet sanded it again with 400 grit sandpaper, followed by a thorough scrubbing with Acetone-soaked blue towels.

That seemed to do the trick. The paint coat you see here is laying down very nicely. The technical data says I can tape over it in 15 minutes, but since the recent weather change the booth isn't as warm as I'd like it. I'm holding off for 45 minutes. It'll give me a chance to enjoy some of the oldies on the radio. I swear; they've got about 29 songs that they cycle through. They must think that nobody will listen in their car long enough to hear the same song twice, they'll either get to their destination or travel beyond the local broadcast area. I could live with the format if they would just cut out that rude, condescending Billy Joel!
I took my fun-loving wife with me to Arizona recently and on the way back we saw this unusual car on the road beside us. It was a Lamborghini but I couldn't tell you how old or what model it was. However, what made it more interesting was the finish on the body. It seemed to be completely chrome plated! I'd seen videos on the web that show a new technique of "spray chrome" painting and this must have been a product of that new technology. Here's everybody's friend Jay Leno bringing it YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-1cTpSZ1l8 It was truly striking and I managed to get a short video of him as I street-raced him through the streets of Salt Lake City, Utah. Check this guy out...
