TRADITIONAL vs TRENDY

Greetings! The weather has been delightful these past few weeks as the fall season matures. It's so nice, I worked in the shop with the roll-up door wide open. It would have been perfect circumstances had it not been for the flies. It's like star-gazing; if you go outside at night in fair weather you're devoured by mosquitoes. If you wait until cold weather has provided insect abatement then you can't convince your wife how beautiful the night sky is outside. My wife would be content to look at it on the warm, cozy internet. It seems like the best time to go star-gazing is in the middle of a warm afternoon, its just a bit harder to see everything.
While in the shop I popped off one of the wheels to photograph the new spindles, tie rod ends, ball joint, calipers & pads and the reconditioned rotors for my readers. I'm looking forward to a wheel alignment and the opportunity to feel how it handles with the new components.

My nephew Caleb came over a few nights ago to use the shop equipment and he looked over the El Camino before leaving. He took a long look at the wheels and tire combo and said something like, "I've never been a fan of the big wheel, little tires look, but this looks really good on this car." I agreed. Sunday evening my friend Paul came over to visit and said the same thing. His comment was nearly verbatim.

I'm the same way: I've never been a fan of the 20"+ wheels with the 'rubber band' tires that are so common on some of the latino-style cars in town, but this set of 18" wheels & tires looks striking on this white-boy El Camino.

Thanks!
