HOW ABOUT SOME DIVERSITY?

Greetings!

I'm making slow but steady progress on the '79 Camino and the results are impressive. A couple of days ago I prepped the bed to spray black bed liner. It had been sanded earlier and now I just scuffed it up with a Scotchbrite pad and then wiped it with Acetone.
My son Skylar and I masked most of the car off just in case I shot wild with the goopy, black bed liner. I ran an extra length of masking paper along the side of the bed in such a way as to allow me to lift it up as a back drop when I sprayed the very top portions of the bedsides. I thought it was brilliant. Without it I would have sprayed some goop on my lathe. & tool boxes.
I sprayed the bed liner in my home shop instead of in the family spray booth. It was about 70 degrees in the shop which was recommended by the instructions, it took about a quart and a half to completely cover the bed floor and sides as well as up and around the top of the rear window. The odor was strong so I opened the roll-up door as I sprayed, but there were no complaints from Skylar & his wife Annie who are living in the upstairs apartment. By morning the surface was dry and moderately textured. Don't think that the bed liner covers or fills dents & imperfections. On the contrary; I never noticed the factory spot welds in the floor before spraying the bed liner.

Overall, it's a tremendous step forward. The black of the bed finishes off the exterior nicely, and draws attention to the wheels & tires. I'm beginning to wish I didn't have to sell it!
