ON THE WAGON

Greetings!
I put the genuine Honda tank stickers on Bill's 750 gas tank today, followed by a few coats of clear. In a few more days I'll ever so gently sand the tank and recoat it so the edge of the stickers can't be felt when the tank is touched. The side covers are done too, so Bill can snap them in place with the new emblems he's got waiting. It turned out nice, very nice!
I have an announcement to make! A neighbor has this choice 1954 Chevrolet 4-door station wagon in his yard and he's willing to move it along. Please contact Desert Classics if you have the tingles when you look at it.
Here's the plan: I have a good running '86 Camaro Z-28 with a Tuned Port Injected V8 and an overdrive automatic transmission. I'd like to take the entire drivetrain out of the Z-28 and make it the soul of this vintage wagon. I think it would be very cool, especially if you have a family or grandkids.

I see it with A/C, rack & pinion steering, power disc brakes and tubular independent front suspension. I think I may have everything in stock to make this come together. I'll bet it would be a reliable, fun car for that woman in Seattle who reads my blog and works in Jason's office.
I don't think Chevrolet made a 2-dr wagon in '54, just the 4-dr version and this one is complete but for a piece of trim on the front fender and the Chevrolet script on the tailgate.
The owner, Jim, says it would run if it had a new distributor cap & wires. I think it would run even better with a fuel injected V8 in charge. If you can envision yourself or someone close to you behind the wheel of this classic car, then let me know. I'd hate to see it get away. If you're interested in this send an email to: 2desertclassics@gmail.com or call me on my secret bat phone: 509 830-4314!
